
About the project
Through a Conservation Collaboration Cooperative Agreement between USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service, the Jones County Conservation District and the SD Association of Conservation Districts we are developing a program to connect, engage and educate women in agriculture & conservation, empowering them to grow their networks, expand their opportunities and build collaboration. We believe that women have an integral role in shaping the future of agriculture and conservation, and this program seeks to support them in their leadership journey.

Objectives

Help women grow their network.

Educate and expose them to leadership opportunities.

Highlight the amazing work and role women play in agriculture, especially those related to our natural resources.

Promote idea and resource sharing, collaboration and co-elevation.

Understand the challenges and hurdles women face and identify steps to overcome them.

Provide training, education, resources, and access to opportunities that will empower women to step into new leadership roles and expand their careers and businesses.

Position the project as the premier program in its field, distinguished by its unique ability to address a niche unmet by other programs, achieved through innovative approaches, exceptional quality, and a commitment to excellence.
